The desk reference · six-deck S17

The strategy chart.

Your hand down the side. The dealer’s upcard across the top. A clear answer, with the rules attached and the reasoning one tap away.

Training rules: six decks · dealer stands on soft 17 · no surrender

This is a separate educational profile. Rules can differ between app tables and other games.

  • Six decks. Dealer stands on all 17s, including soft 17.
  • US hole card and peek: decisions assume the dealer has checked and does not have blackjack.
  • Double any first two cards, including after splitting. Doubling ends the hand after one extra card.
  • Split equal card values into at most four hands. Split aces receive one card each; no resplitting aces.
  • No surrender. A natural blackjack pays 3:2; 21 after splitting is not a natural.
  • Total-dependent strategy. No card counting or expected-value estimates.

Profile six-deck-s17-das · rules 1.0.0 · strategy 1.0.0. The trainer asks for one decision per hand; it does not simulate wagers or settlement.

This chart assumes the dealer has checked for blackjack and does not have it. It is for the stated six-deck profile, with no surrender. It does not cover every table in Blackjack World Tour or Las Vegas; see how rule variations change the chart.

Find your hand

Choose the pair table first for a splittable pair, then soft or hard totals. H = hit, S = stand, D = double, P = split. If doubling is unavailable, hit; for soft 18, stand instead. Select any cell for the reasoning behind it.

Use the right fallback

For a two-card hand, use the recommended double when the rules allow it. If you cannot double, hit instead, except on soft 18: stand. If a split is unavailable, use the hard or soft total. Split aces in this profile receive one card each and are then complete.

A natural blackjack and any completed hand have no further decision. This is total-dependent strategy; it does not use the composition of the remaining shoe. The composition-dependent exceptions are small and listed separately.
